Reinvention is the best medicine

Ever met a business owner who hasn't had to reinvent themself? Life throws curveballs, but it can also be a chance to learn and grow!

I’ve reinvented my professional career a couple of times too. First time was many years ago in the late 1990s after a judo accident. I was on course to be working for a charity for the rest of my life. That all changed following this judo injury. It was a big change in life and although rehab took a few years it was a great opportunity to do more of one thing that I love doing - learn. So, I went to uni, did an English degree for pleasure and for the challenge (yes, I like challenges :-)) decided to retrain as a software developer gaining a Master in Computer Science.

Even then I was brave enough to take on this challenge and do something I knew very little about. And if you know me at all you will know that I am the last person to blow my own trumpet but this was at a time when you were possibly not using the internet and when there were hardly any females in my sector. Even to this day I don’t meet many people who have stayed working in the dot com world - but I’m one for staying the course.

Fast forward to running my own business -  (what feels like many moons ago) with my training in software I decided that helping people get successful with their digital marketing was the perfect choice for me as it combined my creative streak with the geek inside of me. And having worked as an IT tutor for The Open University while living in London, supporting business owners thrive online comes naturally to me.
